Holy Rollerz is a motorcycle ministry comprised of both male and female rider’s from various backgrounds and different church fellowship’s. With that being said, we are now Born Again Christians (John 3:3) serving our Lord Jesus Christ. This does not mean that we are “perfect” by any means. We are being transformed daily by the renewing of our minds, by the word of God through His Holy Spirit.

Our main goal is to hit the highways and bi-ways and reach out to those still lost in sin as we once were. Our main focus is upon reaching the biker community; however our hearts desire is to see all who are lost come to repentance and faith in Christ whether a doctor, lawyer, homeless person, veteran, man, woman, child, etc….

Most of us come from addictive pasts, and have been freed from that lifestyle by the power of God in a “two step” process; that of admitting it and quitting it. *Holy Rollerz MM, does not take part in behavior such as drug and alcohol abuse. It is the consensus of this ministry that the use of tobacco products is detrimental to ones health and witness; and so, we do not encourage such behavior… though we do not forbid its lawful use. We honor God and the patch by our actions. (Therefore, if you are a smoker and you are witnessing/ministering we would ask that you would refrain from it at that time). We must examine ourselves in the light of Gods word when it comes to these types of issues. We trust our members to use the liberty which God has given us, to do good.

In this, we believe wholeheartedly in the institution marriage. Marriage is a vehicle that God has used to bring forth humanity in the midst of a God centered family. We see marriage just as God does; between one man and one woman period. As minister’s, we are held to a higher standard than an average lay person, and thus we are daily challenged to live our lives circumspectly doing all things to bring honor to God. In this, it is always a factor as we live our lives before so many witnesses…that we avoid even the appearance of evil. This would include our speech.  Ephesians 4:29 states - Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.  WE AGREE WITH THE BIBLE that profanity has no place in a Christians vocabulary.

In this, we are cognizant of our surroundings and strive to do our best in our behavior and associations to never compromise the word of God. For example, it is not fitting for an unmarried couple to dwell under the same roof, nor is it appropriate for our members to be seen taking part in worldly activities. Though there are always certain extenuating circumstances which on a case by case basis can be discussed and prayed over. If there is question here, we would be happy to make any clarifications, though our intention is not to be legalistic by any means.

Because we are motorcycle enthusiasts, we will also encourage educational pursuits in safety with regard to riding, take part in events which focus upon the love of riding and the camaraderie which accompanies it and continue to stay abreast of new information that will help our members to become as good a rider as is possible. The way that we ride is a witness, and we will never ride in a way that doesn’t bring glory to God.

*This being said, we will at times split lanes, “white line” as is lawful in the state of California under the following circumstances: That every rider is willing, within the legal boundaries of the law (when traffic is moving 35 mph or less and our speed is not to exceed 40 mph, led by a Road Captain, always as safety dictates). This doesn’t mean that we don’t have fun, but that we are aware of how dangerous our passion for riding can be, and we want to be as wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove….We are a Christ centered, family focused, bunch of folks who love to ride, minister, and fellowship. Each rider is individually responsible for his/her own safety.

If you have these things in common please contact us to learn more.

Membership

For those interested in becoming part of the HRMM organization, and are at least the age of 18 (under 18 on a case by case basis may be sponsored by a member in good standing), you must be a licensed and insured operator of a bike (any type) 500cc or above; or you must be willing to ride as a passenger at times as well as to participate in calendared outreaches and events, including praying sharing your faith either one on one and/or by handing out gospel tracts and sharing your testimony. *In certain circumstances, consideration will be given to those who fit all the criteria mentioned, however they find themselves having been injured or ill after many years on the road but no longer able to ride.  These particular prospective members will be given special consideration not only because of their past riding experience, but also their desire to join with HRMM and take part in outreaches/ministry events as fellow ministers.

If a member of HRMM marries, and their spouse who rides or is a willing passenger and  desires to become a member of this motorcycle ministry....he/she will have to endure the process of membership just like every other prosepctive member.  No member patches will ever be awarded without this process.

We do welcome folks who do not ride but want to be a part of our events; however they are not able to become full members of HRMM unless they ride in some capacity. (We will have supporter patches available at some point and time in the future).

If you are considering becoming a member, you must be attending a local CHRISTIAN church or bible study/fellowship consistently, and agree to the HRMM Statement of Faith and our bi-laws.

*Becoming a member is a four part process. Those interested in membership will need to endure at least a 30 day (1) “hang around period” before being considered to become a patch holder.

*After the 30 day period, you will become a (2) “prospective patch holder” and awarded the Heaven Bound Rocker.

*After a total of 60 days both we and you should know if HRMM is a commitment that you wish to continue for the long haul and you will be awarded your small front patch and name bar as a (3) “prospective patch holder.”

*After a total of 90 days; 30 days as a hang around, 60 days as a prospective patch holder, (taking part in outreaches, events, meetings, etc) you will be awarded the final patch as an (4) “official member of HRMM” – the large back patch. Being an official member gives you an opportunity to be recommended for positions in the ministry.

A members first set of patches is given free, however since the cost is significant, the ministry does require a free will offering to offset the costs. Any additional sets of patches for other vests/jackets which a member wears may be purchased at cost. Patches are to be worn only and not purchased for display purposes. Respect is given to the patch; however as members we shall never defend “the patch” by violence. The blood has already been shed by our Savior on Calvary’s cross.

Just as a matter of information here in the state of CA, if a law enforcement officer pulls a patch-holder over simply because they are wearing a patch, would be considered “profiling.” Though we admonish every patch-holder to be respectful, we also warn every member NEVER to sign any document produced by a member of law enforcement that would place either the member or our patch in a grouping with any gang affiliation. We are not a club and we absolutely abhor gang activity, and though some of our members may have previously been part of a club or gang before devoting their life to Christ, He has made us “new creations” and we will have nothing to do with this type of activity during our membership with HRMM. Being coerced to sign such a document can strip us of our constitutional freedoms.

Although we refer to it as a “patch,” others refer to them as “colors;” therefore if you enter an establishment whose rules require the removal of “colors,” kindly remove your vest/jacket, or turn it inside out, for the sake of respect or leave the event in proper order. Unless otherwise asked, under no circumstances will you remove your vest/patch. For example – A Patch Holder NEVER hangs their vest on the back of a chair in a public setting, but always has it in their possession!

The Governing Board

Let it be known that the “Founder” Michael aka “Bear” or “OSO”  will prayerfully as well as having sought godly counsel, appoint the initial Board Members and although he will not continue on as a “regular” voting member after the board is in place, he will have the power to vote as a tie breaker and have the last word regarding “significant issues” which affect this ministry. The Founder will serve as its “guardian” until further notice. The Founder will have the liberty of being a part of any meeting of the board whether it is calendared or an emergency gathering. No meeting shall occur without the founder’s prior knowledge.

The Governing Board will consist of but is not limited too, a President, Vice President, Sergeant at Arms, Treasurer, Secretary, and members at large which every January will step down in order that the local members of HRMM will endure a nomination & voting process using a paper ballet system. The new board voted in may include members who served in the prior year, if that is the consensus of the members. However, no more than 2 (two) members of the same family are permitted to serve on the board at one time in order to maintain fairness and integrity within the ministry; in that, only one may serve in either the position of President or Vice-President.

If for any reason, a board member resigns their position before the next nomination & voting period, then a special vote will take place at the next calendared Patch Holder’s Meeting. The Founder holds the power to excuse any board member from their position if after serious (criminal/unlawful/immoral) behaviors have been proved.* (See Maintaining Order and Discipline section) This does not mean that the particular individual may not ever serve on the board again, however there needs to be a period of restoration, discipline, and any consequences with regard to the law. This ministry will operate under the laws of the state of California and the United States, *unless any such law forces us to be found in rebellion to GOD.

Any position offered to a member (i.e. Head Road Captain, Assistant Road Captain, Tail Gunner, Fundraising & Events Coordinator, Hospitality Coordinator, Historian, Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Jail Ministry, etc…) will be discussed between the Founder and the Board and agreed upon. Any position given would be warranted by exemplary behavior on the part of the member, demonstrating their devotion to God, their family, church/fellowship, and HRMM – being mindful of maintaining the safety of members and friends and the integrity of the ministry.

No meeting of the board may be held without “proper” notification to the members. For instance a board meeting/patch holder’s meeting shall be endeavored to be held monthly and appear on our website calendar, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Most board meetings can be attended by any member, although there will be specific times that a “closed meeting” will need to be scheduled and referred to as such, in the case of disciplinary actions, etc….. Monthly meetings are not events open to those outside the ministry, unless the visitor has specific motivation to attend, such as a potential member…but all visitors must be cleared by the founder beforehand by telephone, email or in person.

We believe in the “separation of Church & State” in the following manner. The original response letter of President Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist’s intended that instead of church not being a part of government, that on the contrary that the Government IS NOT to interfere with the establishment and/or practices of the church. In this….the government IS NOT to impose any religion on any citizen, but we as Christians have every right to be involved in every capacity of government; further we have the duty to be involved in these activities – especially the voting process.

Maintaining Order in Discipline

Any accusations brought forth against any HRMM member by another member shall be handled as the word of God demands using biblical church discipline exampled in Matthew Chapter 18. No accusations before the Founder, President, and/or Board will be heard without the accuser having gone first to the accused. *See next section. However, if an accusation has come from a non-member, the accusation will be heard in the presence of the accused with the board acting as his/her advocate and if there is any behavior proved as being unbefitting for a HRMM member, the order of discipline will be followed in a private meeting of the board, the accused and a member of his/her support network.

First, unless a crime has been committed, the accuser (HRMM member) must not come to any member other than the one whom has allegedly committed an offense, in order that there is a private humble, loving and prayerful confrontation about the issue. If the matter is not resolved and the accused is not in agreement with his/her accuser, then the accuser along with at least two other members must go to the accused once again. The accuser may prayerfully select two members in good standing of HRMM whether board members or not.

If at that time the issue is still not resolved, then the accused has a right to hear the accusations of his/her accuser in a closed meeting with a member of their support network (for example their pastor or family member), the Founder, President and Board present. At that time the accuser will speak, then the accused, and then questions will be asked by the Founder, President, and Board. After prayer and discussion the Founder, President, and Board will meet outside the presence of the accused and the accuser in order to discuss and come to a vote on whether there needs to be any disciplinary action, what that disciplinary action would entail, or an apology demanded from the accuser.

*Aside from committing a crime, NO-ONE has the right to demand your patch, although you may be asked by the President or Founder to “closet” it for a specified amount of time while issues of rebellion/disobedience are worked through with the loving admonition, counsel and discipline of the Founder, President, the board and your pastor. Please note: Absolutely no confrontation pertaining to any matter of discipline is ever to be handled through email, but instead a phone call or face to face meeting. Email is profitable to provide information, answer questions, prayer alerts, etc….Email is “not” profitable to work out disagreements or disciplinary issues.

Because of any accusations brought forward, if the accused is found to be lacking in the areas discussed depending upon the offense it will be prayerfully discussed amongst the board, the President, and the Founder and an action determined and relegated. Anything of this nature would need to be a serious offense such as unlawful divorce, drunkenness, drug involvement, sexual immorality, violence, lying, stealing, etc…

Faith & Purpose

HRMM Statement of Faith & Purpose

We are a group of Christian Motorcycle enthusiasts, endeavoring to grow in our relationship with the LORD Jesus Christ, striving to be free of religious attitudes while maintaining the integrity of the bible.  It is our desire to grow in the truth of the word, being led by the Spirit of God…Who frees us from any form of legalism and bondage by that truth.  We desire to be made whole in spirit, mind, emotion and body; and shall surround ourselves with other believers, teachings, resources and encouragement that will help us to accomplish this goal.
