Within months of his having graduated High School, Mike signed up with the United States Marine Corps and became an Ordnanceman (building bombs/rockets) and taking care of the trailers that would carry the ordnance to the jets.  His career with the USMC was dotted with issues that arose from his frequent partying and riotous living.  In 1979, Lance Corporal Mike met and fell in love with a Jersey Girl named Judy/Blondie and after knowing one another very briefly they married in November of 1980.  Five days later Mike had to report to his first rehab provided by Uncle Sam in Norfolk, Virginia.  After his 2+ month stay the newlyweds were reunited and could finally begin their lives together. 

Soon after they settled together in the duty station that Mike had been at in Beaufort, SC....they received orders for a 3 year   duty station in Kaneohe Bay Hawaii.  It was during this time that Mike's addiction and both their sinful lives overtook them, ending in his last of many.....suicide attempts, which resulted in some stitches at medical, and a quick pack up and trip over to the on base rehab center where Mike spent another month stint compliments of Uncle Sam.   

By this time Mike & Judy's marriage was nearly disintegrated, and yet even held together by the thin threads of stubbornness....they willed the marriage to remain until one day several years later.... located at what would be Mike's last duty station... that would result in a day of reckoning.  There are many ugly details of what Mike's life was like, the crimes perpetrated and the dirty deeds done in darkness...however, it is the life changing event that occurred in 1989 that you really need to know more about, because it was during this period of Mike's life that he had to look into the mirror and see the ugly truth that remained.  His life was basically eaten up by constant destructive behavior (sin) and not only was he taking himself down the steep mountain of annihilation but Judy accompanied him as well.   

It was soon after the birth of their son Jeremy (aka "Kasper"), that Mike & Judy felt compelled to take a new direction in their lives, because they were no longer just responsible for themselves, but for an innocent life as well.  The change came when Mike recognized that he was a sinner in need of a Savior and that began a world of transformation in his life, when he accepted the sacrificial death in his stead...of Christ's cross.  Though Mike took some tumbles early on, and surrendering completely to the LORD has come over a period of years, he has grown in his faith in Christ and has been used to minister too many through prayer, through service, and through practical demonstration of how we are expected to share our faith with others...loving them in spite of many differences and consistently living out a life of grace, forgiveness and humility.  Mike is no longer the man he used to be 2 Cor 5:17. 

Being as Mike is a veteran, he has a desire to minister to the needs of active duty, dependents, and vet's in some capacity and so this is part of the vision of Holy Rollerz MM.  Mike also has a heart for the bruised, broken and throwaways of society, because he and his family have lived this and know firsthand what damage can result from the brutality of life.  One of the visions of this ministry therefore, is to pray and counsel those who are hospitalized, incarcerated or are imprisoned by the pain of life and the bitterness of unforgiveness; including Christians who have been abandoned by their own.  Since Mike has a love for biker's, that includes a vision to reach and be "real" with those who wear club colors as well as to those who don't.   And so, Holy Rollerz MM was founded in the city of Bellflower California in November of  2008.
